Drew Evans succeeds. That’s what he does. All his life he’s always gotten everything he’s ever wanted. Having grown up in an affluent family his family has always indulged him. But he works hard too. Carefully negotiating multimillion dollar deals as an investment banker so that he can indulge on his weekends. If Drew works hard, he plays harder. Women love him and he has to do little more than smile to get them to indulge him and allow him to indulge himself. His life is perfect. He has the best of everything and he’s not looking to change any of that. Until he meets Kate Brooks. The new investment banker at his firm, she’s the one woman Drew wants but can’t have and this isn’t sitting well with Drew. He’s about to break every rule he has to have Kate because despite everything thing she says, he knows that she wants him…she just doesn’t know it yet.

Oh what to say about Andrew Evans. He’s arrogant, cocky, self-centered, high maintenance, and despite what he thinks, he knows very little about women. But you can’t help but love him. He’s ridiculously funny, witty and absolutely helpless. Some of the things he says you can’t help but roll your eyes at him, but he’s also kind, gentle and handsome. And boy does he know how to use his good qualities to his advantage. Kate didn’t stand a chance against his powers. But then there is Kate. She’s his perfect match. She’s confident, strong, determined, witty and despite her size, she won’t back down to Drew. It was great watching these two duke it out in this book.

I loved how Chase wrote this book like a diary entry but not making it a diary entry. It’s like you are on the receiving end of a conversation where you can’t ask any questions. But don’t worry, Drew will answer them all for you. You may not always love Drew (because there are times when he’s a total douchebag) in this book, but there is something childlike about him which makes you have to forgive him.

I loved this book. It made me laugh and cry. I was happy and angry and I wanted things to work for Kate and Drew and I didn’t. Basically I was all over the place emotionally. Read it. You’ll enjoy it.
